报告人简介：Georg Northoff教授是享誉世界的心理学家、神经科学家、精神病学家。现为加拿大渥太华大学心灵、脑影像与神经伦理学研究所主任、教授；加拿大卡尔顿大学心理学教授；浙江大学教授；杭州师范大学教授；与我国华南师范大学、复旦大学、同济大学等多个高校有深入的合作关系。Northoff教授团队包含来自北美、欧洲、中国等多个国家以及跨越多个学科的研究者，主要采用脑成像技术如fMRI、EEG和MEG，融合神经科学、心理学、精神病学、哲学等方法研究自我、意识、精神疾病的神经以及心理机制等主题。他提出的“时空神经科学”理论试图整合哲学、认知神经科学和物理学的视角，开创了独一无二的跨学科研究领域。截止目前，Northoff教授团队发表了超过300篇（过去三年超过100篇）的经同行评审的文章，H指数为98，总引用量达37000次，单篇文章引用量超过3000次（谷歌学术统计）。此外，他出版了19本专著，其中如《自发的大脑》、《病脑启示》等被翻译为中文、日文、意大利文等多种语言。更多信息见团队网站：http://www.georgnorthoff.com/。

报告摘要：The brain exhibits various cognitive functions, the exact mechanisms of which remain yet unclear, though. At the same time, we are gaining more and more evidence for the intrinsically dynamic nature of the brain’s neural activity. How both cognition and dynamics are connected remains yet largely unclear. My talk will shed novel light on how cognitive features like self, working memory and decision making are shaped by the brain’s dynamic features. The imaging data showed an intricate dynamic shaping of the cognitive features with the latter being the foreground operating against the dynamic background. This amounts to what we recently introduced as ‘Spatiotemporal Neuroscience’ (Northoff et al, 2020a and b).
